The Aeneid is a Latin epic poem, written by Virgil between 29 and 19 BC, that tells the legendary story of Aeneas, a Trojan who travelled to Italy, where he became the ancestor of the Romans.
Style of Homer, re-creates entire scenes from the Homer. Books 1-6 of the Aeneid show such close parallels to the Homeric epics that they are often called “Virgilian Odyssey.”. Virgil often places Aeneas in situations identical to Homer.
