Fryderyk Chopin

He was born in Poland on 1 March 1810. His father was French and his mother was Polish. He had two sisters. He lived in Warsaw where his family moved.

It was also his father who discovered his talents but Wojciech Żyzny was his first music teacher who taught him to play the piano. At the age of seven he learned to play the piano very well and gave public concerts.

Soon after he started composing music. When he was 18 his father took him to Berlin and Vienna. In Warsaw he met professor Elsner and made friends with him.

In 1839 he went to France and never came back to Poland.
